The use of natural medicines in the treatment of diseases has seen a rapid increase in recent years. Iran, with its rich vegetation, diverse and unique plant species, and a wealth of scientific resources in herbal and traditional medicine, has successfully carved a niche for itself in the global arena for the development of herbal medicines. Therefore, a dynamic and specialized R&D department, staffed with experienced, skilled, and active professionals at Noushdaro Tosan Salamat Pharmaceutical Company, is of paramount importance.

 

The R&D department was established with the goal of formulating specialized medications based on medicinal plants, with a focus on producing premium-quality products while emphasizing the use of native Iranian plants and the revival of Traditional Persian Medicine (TPM) and in compliance with the principles of therapeutic wisdom and ancient Graphidion practices. As a result of the R&D department's efforts, approximately 44 products in a variety of formulations such as tablets, sachets, ointments, oils, as well as a wide range of cosmetics have been designed. These products have been successfully produced and introduced to the domestic pharmaceutical market, as well as exported to countries such as Afghanistan, Armenia, and Iraq.

Formulation Department

The Formulation Department at Noushdaro Tosan Salamat Pharmaceutical Company is dedicated to transforming medicinal plants into processed herbal medicines. This effort aims to prioritize ease of use while upholding therapeutic efficacy and wisdom, and compliance with ancient Graphidion methodologies. This department also designs and formulates various cosmetic and hygiene products tailored to societal needs, with a focus on high efficacy. Overall, this department leverages the latest credible scientific resources to gain access to cutting-edge technologies used in pharmaceutical and herbal medicine industries.

Key Activities of the Department include:

 Selection of suitable excipients for various pharmaceutical formulations.

 Pre-formulation of different pharmaceutical products

 Optimization of manufacturing methods for diverse pharmaceutical formulations.

 Modification of existing formulations to enhance their quality and efficacy.

 Drug formulation based on previous documentation and stages, and preparing pilot batches.

 Scaling up experimental products for the production of industrial batches.

 Submitting research proposals to clinical study centers at various universities of medical sciences nationwide for the clinical evaluation of the company's new formulations and obtaining scientific oversight for such initiatives.

 

 

Traditional Medicine (TM).

Traditional Persian Medicine represents a golden chapter in the history of global pharmacy. Key responsibilities of this sector include: providing training on the Fundamentals of Traditional Medicine: Providing training on the concepts, principles, and content of traditional Persian medicine and delving into its unique characteristics, Extracting single-component remedies (Mofradat) from traditional Persian medical manuscripts and aligning their historical names with modern scientific terminology, integrating traditional and modern therapeutic methods and using them for research purposes, Reviewing various pharmaceutical formulations utilized in Traditional Persian medicine and categorizing them based on their administration method, Correlating pharmaceutical formulations in Traditional Persian Medicine with contemporary pharmaceutical formulations while ensuring compliance with therapeutic wisdom and ancient Graphidion guidelines, in order to reform pharmaceutical sciences, Detailing the techniques used in production of  different formulations in traditional medicine and elucidating the principles of their formulation, identifying active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in traditional formulations using modern scientific methods, Collecting and analyzing diverse prescriptions from ancient medical texts, selecting exemplary cases for further research, and utilizing the latest research findings and scientific advancements, along with the assay alignment process and therapeutic outcomes from global resources such as ScienceDirect, PubMed, WHO, USP, ICH, and …, across all research stages to drive development.
